Ok, so what’s new about the new tablet everyone is talking about?
* The new design is 33% smaller than its predecessor.
So it’s a whole lot thinner, smaller and even lighter. The original model measured in at 246 x 190 x 13 mm and 680g (for the WiFi-only version); the new iPad 2 slims that down to 241 x 186 x 8.8 mm and 601g, while still keeping the screen size able to display 9.7-inches, at 1024 x 768 with a resolution of 132ppi as on the first iPad. It also comes with the same oleophobic coating for easier fingerprint removal.
* The new iPad 2 comes with the latest processing power from Apple, the dual-core Apple A5.
With a custom SoC it promises significantly higher performance than its single-core A4 predecessor, so with two 1 GHz cores you’re bound to notice a difference. Continue reading
